POSH Fashion Sale Arrives at The Plaza

Lighthouse International’s 39th Annual Fashion Sale Will Feature Top Designer Clothing and Accessories at Discounted Prices

(March 30, 2011) New York – Alexander McQueen? Check. Christian Louboutin? Absolutely! Chanel, Dior, Ferragamo, Gucci, Hermes, YSL? Affirmative to all. Yes, Eloise, POSH® really has arrived at The Plaza. POSH, New York’s leading fashion fundraiser featuring new, vintage and gently worn clothing and accessories, is partnering with the iconic hotel to present its über-glam annual public sale taking place May 12th-15th, 2011. In addition to items donated from personal collections, the sale will also feature items donated directly by top designers including Badgley Mischka, Derek Lam, Peter Som, Rachel Roy and more. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Lighthouse International, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vision loss through prevention, treatment and empowerment.

Fittingly, the POSH Fashion Sale will be held at New York’s most stylish address and shopping destination, The Shops at The Plaza. The sartorially savvy will note on their calendars that the POSH Fashion Sale will kick off with early shopping at a Sneak Peek Benefit Preview on Wednesday, May 11th, followed by the opening of the public sale Thursday, May 12th through Sunday, May 15th. Thousands of designer, vintage, and contemporary clothes and accessories for men, women and children will be offered at deep discounts and replenished daily. Must-have items range from a smart, brand new Carolina Herrera Black & White Silk Photo Image Design Blouse, to an elegant Chanel Black Wool Long Jacket, luxurious Gucci Brown Leather Riding Boots, killer gently worn Jimmy Choo Black Suede Gladiator Style Evening Heels, and more. The Plaza and Lighthouse International share a timely connection as neighbors and landmarks in the City of New York. Founded in 1905 by Winifred and Edith Holt, the Lighthouse quickly became a pioneer in the field of vision rehabilitation. Shortly thereafter, The Plaza opened in 1907. In honor of POSH at The Plaza, during the sale all retail and food and beverage outlets within The Plaza will be offering a five percent discount and a five percent matching donation to Lighthouse Foundation with a purchase if customers show a POSH receipt. “We are very pleased that POSH will be at The Plaza. Sneak Peek Benefit Preview tickets are $175 which also includes a four day pass to the public sale. Public sale tickets can be purchased for $10 per day or $30 for a four day pass at www.poshsale.org. Funds raised from POSH help support a variety of services to help New Yorkers who are visually impaired live independent and productive lives.

The sale will kick-off with A POSH® Affair Dinner on Monday, May 9th at The Oak Room at The Plaza. Hamish Bowles and Lorry Newhouse are hosting this exclusive dinner to honor Amy Fine Collins, Vanity Fair Special Correspondent, and Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President of Fashion and Store Presentation for Bergdorf Goodman.
