Blackstone Chairman Peter Peterson, Ellen Ratner And Jeffrey E. Mittman To Be Honored At The Henry A. Grunwald Luncheon On September 19th (Archive)

Liz Smith will emcee and Ted Sorenson will deliver keynote and, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, R. James Nicholson to speak at sold out event

WHO AND WHAT:

The Henry A Grunwald Award for Public Service Luncheon will salute the Honorable Peter G. Peterson, Senior Chairman and Co-founder, The Blackstone Group; Ellen Ratner, Bureau Chief Talk Radio News Service, Political Editor, TALKERS Magazine, and Fox News Contributor; and Jeffrey E. Mittman, a soldier partially blinded in the Iraqi War. The Keynote Speaker will be Ted Sorenson, the Master of Ceremonies will be Liz Smith and the Honorable R. James Nicholson, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, will introduce Sergeant Mittman. The Henry A. Grunwald Award for Public Service recognizes individuals who are committed to advancing public awareness of vision impairment and vision rehabilitation

"These outstanding honorees have helped further our mission of enabling people with vision loss to live independent and productive lives," states Tara A. Cortes, PhD, RN President and CEO of Lighthouse International.

The luncheon is chaired by Louise Grunwald, and the award is named in honor of her late husband, Henry A. Grunwald, who was the first recipient. Mr. Grunwald was the former US Ambassador to Austria and former Editor-in-Chief of Time Inc. He authored Twilight: Losing Sight, Gaining Insight, a groundbreaking personal account of his experience with the onset of vision loss due to macular degeneration.
