Established in 1980 by Lighthouse International's Women's Committee, this time-honored tradition recognizes outstanding students who have overcome the challenges of vision loss by awarding them with scholarships for college and graduate studies. The program also honors extraordinary corporate citizens committed to breaking down barriers in the workplace for people with vision loss.

The Lighthouse International Scholarship and Career Awards program is an annual event funded by individuals, organizations and foundations. Winners are chosen on academic and personal achievement and are judged by the Lighthouse International Scholarship and Career Awards Committee.
