Lisa Chan-O’Connell, OD, FAAO – Consulting Clinical Low Vision Specialist, Lighthouse International, adjunct clinical professor, SUNY College of Optometry.

Eleanor E. Faye, MD, FACS – Medical Director, Lighthouse International; Surgeon Emeritus, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Dr. Faye has been affiliated with Lighthouse International for over 50 years as Director of the Low Vision Service and as a frequent lecturer and ophthalmologic advisor to the Lighthouse Center for Education. She is an internationally recognized leader and author in the field of low vision and has received awards from numerous organizations including The American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Optometric Association.

Michael Fischer, OD, FAAO – Director, Vision Services, Northport VA Medical Center; adjunct assistant clinical professor, SUNY College of Optometry; Lighthouse International clinical consultant. Dr. Fischer has been affiliated with Lighthouse International for over 25 years as a clinician and faculty member, and served as Director of Low Vision Services from 1992-2006. He has authored numerous articles and chapters on low vision and is a frequent lecturer at continuing education programs in the U.S. and abroad.

Maureen Moscato, MS, CVRT – Rehabilitation teacher and counselor at Lighthouse International for over 15 years.

Bruce P. Rosenthal, OD, FAAO – Chief of Low Vision Programs, Lighthouse International; adjunct professor, department of ophthalmology, Mount Sinai Medical Center; adjunct distinguished professor, SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Rosenthal has lectured throughout the world on all aspects of low vision clinical care and has authored many publications on low vision, including Living Well with Macular Degeneration. He has received numerous awards and was the first recipient of the E.B. Bietti Award presented by the Italian branch of the International Association for the Prevention of Blindness.

Karen Kramer, MS, COMS – Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Lighthouse International.

Nancy Paskin, MS, CVRT – Ms. Paskin spent over 25 years at Lighthouse International, during which time she held the position of director of rehabilitation, among others. As a certified vision rehabilitation therapist, Ms. Paskin has received many awards for her 35 years of work in the field of vision rehabilitation including the Bruce McKenzie Award for lifetime achievement and outstanding contributions to Vision Rehabilitation Therapy/Rehabilitation Teaching. She is past president of the Vision Rehabilitation Therapy/Rehabilitation Teaching Division of AERBVI (the Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired) and has authored numerous publications on sensory development and vision rehabilitation.

Linda Pang, OD – Low Vision Clinician, Lighthouse International, adjunct clinical professor, SUNY College of Optometry.

Cydney Strand, RN – Education Consultant, Lighthouse International. Ms. Strand served as the Senior Clinical Educator at Lighthouse International for ten years (1998-2008). She authored a number of articles and delivered lectures to healthcare professionals throughout the U.S. related to working with people who are visually impaired and how to instruct them in the proper use of low vision devices.

Carol Sussman-Skalka, CSW, MBA – Ms. Sussman-Skalka spent over 25 years at Lighthouse International as author, outreach coordinator, and editor of the award-winning Lighthouse newsletter Sharing Solutions.

Andrea Zimmerman, OD, FAAO – Low Vision Clinician, Lighthouse International. Prior to joining the Lighthouse, Dr. Zimmerman spent five years working at the Helen Keller Institute. She has co-authored scientific papers on low vision and has lectured nationally on performing the low vision examination and treatment protocols for low vision patients.
