International Programs and Initiatives
The work of Lighthouse International extends around the globe through on-going collaborations and projects that share Lighthouse methods with hundreds of others in the areas of greatest need worldwide.
Lighthouse International has collaborative or consultative agreements in place in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, China, the Czech Republic, South Africa, India and Saudi Arabia.
Through the Lighthouse's unique "Train-the-Trainer" programs, jointly run courses and workshops are held in-country, reflecting regional needs. These educational programs bring new skills to ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmic ancillary staff, vision rehabilitation professionals, health care workers, teachers and others.
The Center for Education also provides consultation on facility design, equipment needs, and service planning and delivery for national and international organizations and practices.
