Assistive Computer Training
Assistive Computer Training
Computers have changed the world for people who are blind or visually impaired. With assistive technology training, you can learn to use the latest technologies to access the Internet -- use e-mail, create documents and spreadsheets. New technologies produce synthesized speech, enhanced large print and braille output.
Assistive computer training can greatly enhance career opportunities for people with impaired vision. The Lighthouse offers individual and small group classes in a wide range of skills such as keyboarding and word processing, operating a personal computer, using a scanner, and accessing the Internet.
Participants also receive training in screen reader and screen magnification software.
