The Winifred and Edith Holt Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service:

This award is the highest recognition for volunteer service at Lighthouse International, and is designed to promote superior performance among all volunteers. It requires extraordinary accomplishments that have broad impact across the Lighthouse organization, not merely length of service.

Who is eligible: Any Lighthouse volunteer who has made a contribution in two or more areas of Lighthouse operations or management.


Philanthropy Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer, group or organization that has demonstrated exceptional leadership in coordinating, motivating and successfully completing fundraising efforts for Lighthouse International operations, programs and services. The recipient of this award will have had measurable impact on the Lighthouse annual fundraising goal.

Who is eligible: An individual volunteer, group or organization involved in fundraising efforts for Lighthouse International operations, programs and services.


The Judy Van Nostrand Leadership Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer who utilizes strong leadership skills to lead, plan or organize a Lighthouse program or service and who demonstrates superior performance in this capacity.

Who is eligible: Any volunteer who has led, planned, organized or coordinated a Lighthouse program or service.


Professional Services Award:

This award recognizes an individual volunteer or corporation who has provided outstanding professional services to a Lighthouse program, service and/or management.

Who is eligible: Any volunteer or corporation who has provided outstanding professional services (e.g., legal, creative, research, technical) to a Lighthouse program, service or management.


Partnership Award:

This award recognizes a "team" comprised of a Lighthouse employee and volunteer who have worked closely together on a specific and well-defined project or assignment.

Who is eligible: A Lighthouse employee and volunteer "team."


Special Events Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer or volunteer team who has been integral to the success of POSH, Winternight, Scholarship and Career Awards Luncheon and/or other large special event(s).

Who is eligible: Any volunteer who has assisted with a special event and served as team leader, solicited large donations, managed logistics, supervised other volunteers, etc.


General Support Services Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer who has routinely provided outstanding clerical, creative, technical or other administrative support services.
Who is eligible: All volunteers.


Reading Service Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the Reading Service and to the clients we serve through this program.

Who is eligible: Volunteers in the Reading Service program.


Recording Service Award:

This award recognizes a volunteer who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the Recording Service and to the clients and customers we serve through this program.

Who is eligible: Volunteers in the Recording Service program.


Youth Volunteer Award:

This award recognizes an individual who is 14-21 years of age and who has demonstrated a regular commitment to volunteer service.

Who is eligible: Any youth 14-21 years of age.


Corporate Partnership Award:

This award recognizes a corporation that has demonstrated a commitment to the Lighthouse mission by making a significant financial contribution. The corporate recipient of this award will have had measurable impact on the Lighthouse fundraising campaign.

Who is eligible: An organization involved in fundraising efforts for Lighthouse International operations, programs and services.


Community Partnership Award:

This award recognizes a corporation that has demonstrated social responsibility through corporate volunteer involvement in Lighthouse programs, services or events. The corporate recipient of this award will have demonstrated a measurable impact on a Lighthouse program, service or event through a sustained volunteer involvement.

Who is eligible: An organization involved in promoting and sustaining corporate volunteer involvement in a Lighthouse program, service or event.
