Diabetes Center: Managing A Complex And Rampant Disease
Diabetes is the leading cause of new cases of legal blindness in the developed world. To address the variety of healthcare needs of people with diabetes who are at high risk for vision loss, or are visually impaired, the Lighthouse is establishing a Diabetes Center. People with diabetes often have difficulty reading medicine labels, managing medications and nutrition, which are so critical to daily diabetes self-management. The goal of this Center is to help people better manage their diabetes and to function safely and independently with vision loss.
