The ALVA Mobile Phone Organizer (MPO) combines an accessible GSM cell phone, mobile Internet services and note-taker functionality. It is a compact, easy-to-carry device for mobile situations. Users can make phone calls, send SMS text messages, look up information and take notes. All the functions including menus are accessible in braille and speech. The unit has an 8-key braille keyboard to enter information.
MPO features include: a Tri-Band GSM phone for worldwide use; phone and address directory; agenda planner; calculator; clock and alarm; note-taker functionality; USB port for PC synchronization; wired headset; built-in speaker and microphone; 8-dots braille output; 8-key braille input; U.S. and UK Grade-2 support; speech output in U.S. and UK English, French, German and Dutch.
Upcoming product features will include e-mail, Internet browser, Global Positioning System (GPS), Daisy reader, and an MP3 player and will be released as optional software upgrades.
