Lighthouse International is always recruiting for a variety of volunteer opportunities. Right now, it's all about POSH.
POSH ~ The HOTTEST SALE in Town!
POSH is a division of Lighthouse International and hosts this annual fashion clothing sale to raise money to support programs and services for the visually impaired. It is New York's leading fashion fundraiser, offering new and gently used designer clothing for women, men and children, and accessories. And we need your help!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
SALES ASSOCIATES
- Sales Floor (within all departments) - Assists customers on the sales floor with identifying and selecting purchases and escorting them to the cashier as needed; monitors the sales area and returns unselected items to appropriate areas; keeps sales area neat and tidy for incoming customers.
- Ladies Dressing Room - Assists customers with trying on selected items; keeps the dressing room area neat and organized at all times ensuring easy access and customer safety; re-hang and return unselected items to clothing racks.
PACKERS
- Assist at check-out stations packaging merchandise and assisting customers to the exit as needed.
REORGANIZERS
- Reorganizers help restore the event venue; clear all extraneous items and return them to the appropriate department; may require re-hanging and folding items and moving clothing racks; helps rearrange the sales area in preparation for the next day's sale. After the sale on May 20th reorganizers will break down displays to restore the venue.
Physical demands: All assignments on this event are physically demanding and do require some lifting, moving and standing for long periods of time. There are no "light duty" assignments.

Thursday, May 15th (public sale)
Friday, May 16th (public sale)
Saturday, May 17th (public sale)
Monday, May 19th (staff and volunteer sale)
Tuesday, May 20th (after sale reorganization)
Time:
Pre sale 9:00am - 11:00pm
Shift 1 10:30am - 2:30pm
Shift 2 1:30pm - 5:30pm
Shift 3 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Post sale 6:30pm - 9:30pm (5:00pm -7:30pm Monday)
