Seasoned Marketing and Advertising Leader Tina Georgeou Joins Lighthouse International to Spearhead New Brand Building and Outreach campaign as organization gears to meet the growing number of people who will be visually impaired

Tina Georgeou, an experienced marketing and communications leader with top management success in developing global branding and marketing strategies for a broad array of industries across a number of markets and cultures, has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer at Lighthouse International. Ms. Georgeou comes to Lighthouse International with 10 years of experience as a Trustee for Save the Children where she has chaired the marketing committee and helped redefine their global brand positioning

During her extensive career Ms. Georgeou has grown profitable agency and client businesses. For example, as Vice President of Corporate Development and New Business for Meredith Corporation, a $1 billion media company, she worked on the revitalization of the Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies' Home Journal brands.
Prior to Meredith, she spent 20 years in the advertising business, working for Ogilvy & Mather in New York, Mexico City, Paris and Montreal. While in Montreal, she co-founded her own agency, RTA Advertising, and attracted national clients such as BMW and Air France. Later, as President of DeWitt Media, she helped a New York-based media-strategy agency build an impressive new business track record and eventually sell out to a multinational agency network. Before leaving the advertising world in 2000, she had ascended to the position of Vice Chair of Optimedia International, the U.S. unit of the world's fifth largest advertising agency, Publicis S.A. Ms. Georgeou was the first international member of the Business Leadership Council of Wellesley College. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wellesley College with a bachelor's degree in French and Italian. She studied language at the Universite de Paris - Sorbonne before earning her master's degree in advertising from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
