To Kick Off St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, Renowned Pianist John O'Conor Performs Beethoven And Other Classics
Performance is part of new "Live from Lighthouse" Series
Internationally acclaimed pianist John O'Conor will perform An Evening of Classical and Early Romance Repertoire including works by Beethoven and John Field on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 7 p.m., at Lighthouse International, 111 East 59th Street (between Lexington and Park Avenues) New York City.
Mr. O'Conor is best known for his masterful interpretation of the classical early romantic repertoire. He has been praised for his formidable technique and called the true "Poet of the Piano". A highlight of his performance will be John Field's Nocturnes.

John O'Conor has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony. He has performed in leading concert halls across the globe, including Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. His recordings on the Telarc label include the Beethoven Sonatas and Mozart Concertos which received glowing reviews.
Mr. O'Conor began his studies in his native Dublin, and won first prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna in 1973. He is regarded as one of the most important piano teachers in the world and his students have won many international prizes. He has been awarded Honorary Doctorates from the University of Dublin and Trinity College in Dublin, and he was named Officier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government.
