Lighthouse International Appoints Evelyn Morales As Director Of Westchester Office

Experienced administrator will lead the Westchester office as it marks 50 years of service with many new programs

Evelyn Morales, RN has been named Director of the Westchester office of Lighthouse International; a leader in providing critically needed vision health care services to people of all ages.

Ms. Morales comes to Lighthouse International with 15 years of experience managing and directing numerous community based health programs. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Community Health Services for Elant in Goshen, a leading non profit organization which provides health and housing services for the elderly in the Hudson Valley region and beyond. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Community Health Services for Selfhelp Community Services in New York City.

According to Dr. Tara Cortes, RN, PhD, President and CEO of Lighthouse International, "We are delighted to have Evelyn join our team. She brings a wide range of expertise that will enable us to expand our programs and services to meet the increasing need for low vision health care in Westchester as the population ages and more people have vision loss."

One of Ms. Morales' first priorities will be the opening of the new POSH® Store on November 1, 2007 which will offer new and gently used designer clothing at deep discounts and raise funds to support Lighthouse International's services. She will also lead the expansion of the low vision services the Westchester office offers (including optometric exams as well as orientation and mobility training, mental health counseling. occupational therapy and wide range of clinical services)

Evelyn holds a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from New York University and has been a registered nurse for 20 years.
