Diabetes and Vision Loss: A Crisis

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - 12 - 1:15 pm

Dirksen 562

Located: First and C Streets, North East, Washington DC 20510

Vision loss is often overlooked as a consequence of diabetes. On September 9th, we will be educating our elected officials about how people with diabetes-related vision loss are enabled to manage their disease and their lives. They will see simulations of diabetic retinopathy that affects over 5 million people over the age of 18. Adaptive optical devices and adaptive insulin devices for persons with low vision or blindness will be shown.
