Thomas Nolan Biography
Chief Information Officer
Thomas Nolan joined Lighthouse International in May of 2006 as Chief Information Officer with responsibility for all Information Technology initiatives within the organization, which is dedicated to assisting people of all ages overcome the challenges of vision loss. Most recently, Mr. Nolan was the Director of Information Technology at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the national organization for CPAs.
Previously Mr. Nolan was Vice President and Director of Information Technology at Starpoint Solutions a NY consulting firm serving Fortune 500 clients by developing state of the art mission-critical, transaction-intensive solutions and award winning web sites. Mr. Nolan was also a member of the technical staff at IBM's prestigious Thomas J. Watson Research Center where he developed high end computing and communication systems. Also while at IBM Research, as part of a PC special products team he was principal developer of the first braille computer mouse.
Mr. Nolan received his B.S. in Electronic Technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his M.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. He is a U.S. Patent holder in the area of system and software security and author of a number of invention disclosures related to computer science. He also served as an adjunct instructor of computer science at Mercy College for over 10 years.
